The United States of America does not have a true health care system. If it did, the incidence of chronic disease would be steadily decreasing. If it did, the use of prescription medication would be on the decline.

The fact is, our poorly named health care system is in reality a disease care system. It is focused primarily upon the treatment of signs and symptoms without any attention being provided toward the development and maintenance of health.

This system is a proverbial cash cow as profits are gained not from health, but from disease, illness and infirmity. The USA has the most expensive medical system on earth yet ranks 77th in the world in the health of its population. The reason is simple. A healthy population does not generate revenue. Profits would dry up if people began experiencing a legitimate level of health that would dramatically reduce the need for expensive medical care and treatments.

While disease care will always be required, a shift in perspective is necessary if we are to realize real health care. This shift will require physicians and other providers to begin thinking less like mechanics and more like gardeners. Disease and illness are not caused by a lack of medication. A headache is not caused by a Tylenol deficiency. High blood pressure is not caused by a beta-blocker deficiency and you don’t get arthritis because you don’t have enough NSAID’s in your body!

True health care addresses the cause of illness and disease and treats accordingly. The health of your “soil”, which is composed of your tissues, organs, glands and blood, is of utmost importance in the treatment of any condition. Ignoring your soil is equivalent to expecting your tomatoes to grow in the absence of adequate sunshine, water and maintenance.

As long as doctors continue to treat chronic illness like mechanics, health care will continue to suck! And the health of the population will only follow suit. Health care would rule if doctors took lessons from the gardeners of the world.

Yours in Health,

Dr. Eric Hampton

Disease and illness are not caused by a lack or deficiency of prescription medication! In most cases, the long term use of medication is simply not necessary provided one is willing and able to do what is necessary. 1) Work first to Identify the root cause of your condition. 2) We must Nutrify your body with the necessary and frequently deficient nutrients. 3) Detoxify, or remove from your body that which does not belong. 4) Stand By! Once the first three steps have been accomplished, we can all sit back and allow Nature to bring your body back onto the path toward health. IDNS. Simple!!!

The following post has been recreated from an article written by Angela Gonzales and published in the Phoenix Business Journal on 3-4-11.

Despite the closure of sick child care centers at two Valley hospitals, a Gilbert doctor is venturing into the business and plans to franchise the concept nationally.

Dr. Eric Hampton, founder and medical director of Arizona Prohealth, LLC, opened his second Sick Child Day Care center this week. The first opened in January.

Pro-Kids, Get Well Child Care centers, may be the only facilities in Arizona that meet the needs of working parents whose children become ill, Hampton said.

John C. Lincoln Hospital-Deer Valley closed its Wee Care program two years ago for lack of volume, said Kathy Northrop, director of pediatric services at the hospital.

Chandler Regional Medical Center closed its sick child care facility last June after 12 years of operation, said hospital spokeswoman Danielle LeBlanc. She declined to comment further about Chandler Regional’s Sick Kid Care program.

Hampton said the hospital services struggled because of the relatively low number of sick kids using them. He said his business model is unique in that he created joint venture agreements with existing day care and preschool facilities.

His Pro-Kids, Get Well Child Care centers are located inside the Maxwell Preschool Academies in Mesa and Chandler. The centers accept children ages 6 weeks to 15 years suffering mild to moderate illnesses such as cold, stomach flu, bronchitis, strep throat, pink eye and ear infections.

Hampton said he would like to have five centers open by year end and double or triple that number by the end of 2012.

“The long term goal is to franchise this model,” he said. “We are already investigating options in that respect to take it statewide and continue throughout the Southwest.”

What are your options when your child gets sick and can’t go to school or daycare?

1. Call in Sick Yourself…
2. Miss a full day of work and pay…
3. Try to get in to see a doctor, or…

Bring them into the first Sick Child Day Care in Mesa, AZ where they will be cared for in a clean, safe and comfortable environment. That way you will not need to miss work unless you want to!

We can accept your child with a cold, flu, fever, ear infection, allergies, stomach ache, pink eye, strep throat, nausea, headaches and many other minor illnesses that are not of a serious nature. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept a child with HIV, lice, mumps, measles, chicken pox, hepatitis, and other conditions of a more serious nature.

We call our room the “Sick Bay” for easy identification. The “Sick Bay” can take care of a maximum of four children ranging from infants to twelve years of age and is staffed by an experienced and compassionate caregiver who provides care with medical supervision.

Although located within the same building as Maxwell Preschool Academy, the “Sick Bay” is independently owned and operated by the integrative family physicians of Arizona Prohealth, LLC (AZP). AZP is at the forefront of providing a leading edge blend of naturopathic, homeopathic and conventional medical and wellness care to help you and your family to prevent disease, treat illness and improve health.

As an additional community service, Arizona Prohealth, LLC also provides medical and wellness care plus Sick Child Day Care at no charge for the families and students enrolled at Maxwell Preschool Academy (Dobson Road location only)

While attending the “Sick Bay” and with your consent, your child may receive integrative medical treatment with nutritional or homeopathic supplements that are safe, effective and free from unwanted side effects. Treatment with conventional prescription medication such as anti-biotics is also available as needed or desired.

From now on you do not need to miss work when your child becomes ill unless you want to! Drop your child off in the “Sick Bay” for a half day or a full day and we’ll take care of your child while you take care of business. Transportation is available at select schools and locations for a nominal fee.

The “Sick Bay” is currently available only at 2750 South Dobson Road, Mesa, AZ. 85202, and students enrolled at that address may use the “Sick Bay” at no additional charge. There is a $35.00 day fee for children not enrolled at that location. Plans are currently underway for additional locations throughout the valley in 2011.

For more information contact Dr. Eric Hampton at 480-831-7970 or drhampton@azwesthampton.com

Dr. Hampton is proud to announce that his video blog (vlog) will be launched very soon. It may be a single vlog or several sub vlogs each with a specific topic. Generally speaking the topics will based upon “The good, bad and ugly of the American medical care system.” That means there will be an endless amount of material to cover and no shortage of topics! Discussions will include the benefits and uses of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and other nutrients, while others will talk about our dominant Disease care medical model and it’s limitations. Of course, plenty of attention will be paid to natural, alternative and integrative medical and wellness methods and the associated benefits and limitations of each.

Unlike most of the salesman who call themselves physicians, I will not be selling products. I will however go into great detail discussing the many safe and effective natural and integrative therapies that are superior to the standard and customary drug and disease care that dominates in this country.

Please feel free to join the discussion by offering your feedback and comments. I only ask that your comments are rooted in a foundation of integrity and intellectual curiosity and are free of sales leads, promotions and foul language. It would be nice if my children could read the comments without polluting their young minds with mindless chatter.
